From Marrakech to the Merzouga Desert

A 5-day tour designed to explore southern Morocco, from the Atlas Mountains to the dunes of Erg Chebbi, passing through ancient kasbahs, Berber villages, local markets and cinematic towns. An authentic experience in the heart of the Moroccan desert, combining culture, extraordinary landscapes and nights under the stars.

DAY 1

Marrakech – Ounila Valley – Ait-Ben-Haddou – Ouarzazate – Agdz

Departure from your riad in Marrakech, crossing the High Atlas Mountains along the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka road, the highest mountain pass in the country at 2,260 metres. Along the way, we will take a detour through the scenic Ounila Valley, an ancient caravan route dotted with kasbahs and spectacular canyons. We will reach the legendary Ait-Ben-Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and fascinating ksar where time seems to have stood still, for a short visit. After exploring this jewel of Berber architecture, we will continue towards Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Morocco”, famous for its film studios and the majestic Taourirt Kasbah. Crossing desert landscapes and lush palm groves, we will arrive in Agdz, the gateway to the Draa Valley, a spectacular oasis dotted with historic kasbahs and traditional villages. Here, you can immerse yourself in the authentic atmosphere of southern Morocco, surrounded by centuries-old palm groves and picture-perfect landscapes.

DAY 2

Agdz – Kasbah Tamnougalt – Alnif – Rissani – Merzouga

After breakfast, departure from Agdz, in the heart of the lush Draa Valley, to visit the magnificent Tamnougalt Kasbah, an ancient fortress that tells centuries of Berber history and culture. We will continue south, as the landscape gradually transforms into a succession of rocky plateaus and vast desert expanses, until we reach Alnif, famous for its ancient fossils and the charm of a more authentic and wild side of Morocco. The journey continues towards Rissani, an ancient caravan town and the birthplace of the Alaouite dynasty. We will explore its vibrant traditional market, where the atmosphere of the old trading routes can still be felt. Arrival in Merzouga in the afternoon, at the gateway to the Erg Chebbi Desert. Before sunset, departure by camel to reach the Berber tents, also known as “Haima”, where dinner will be served under the stars and you will enjoy traditional Berber music played with percussion instruments.

DAY 3

Merzouga – Erg Chebbi – Khamlia – Mifiss – Merzouga

Wake up at dawn to watch the sunrise among the dunes, followed by breakfast at the desert camp and departure to explore the dunes of Erg Chebbi, where you will have the opportunity to admire and photograph unique landscapes. Along the way, we will make a short visit to nomadic families who live in remote areas of the desert. The journey continues to the Village of Khamlia, home to communities originally from Mali, Senegal and Mauritania, where you will have the opportunity to enjoy a traditional Gnawa music performance. A short visit to the Mifiss mines before returning to the riad in Merzouga.

DAY 4

Merzouga – Erfoud – Gole del Todra – Dadès Valley

After breakfast, departure from the village of Merzouga towards Erfoud, a town known for its ancient fossils and artisan workshops specializing in fossil stone. Here, you can make a short stop to visit a specialized workshop and discover ancient marine remains embedded in the rock. Leaving Erfoud, the road crosses desert landscapes and lush palm groves until reaching the Todra Gorges, an impressive canyon with red rock walls rising up to 300 metres. There will be time for a walk along the river flowing through the gorges, experiencing the authentic atmosphere of this place, popular with hikers and climbers. We will then continue our journey as the landscape gradually changes upon entering the scenic Dades Valley, famous for its unique rock formations and panoramic road winding through the mountains. A stop at the spectacular rock formations known as the “Monkey Fingers” offers the opportunity to take unforgettable photographs. Continuing along the Road of 1000 Kasbahs, you can admire ancient earthen fortresses surrounded by canyons and palm groves, reminders of a region rich in history. Arrival in Dades in the evening.

DAY 5

Dadès Valley – Roses Valley – Kasbah Amridil – High Atlas – Marrakech

After breakfast, visit to the spectacular Dadès Gorges in the early morning light. The journey will then continue through the scenic Valley of Roses, where in spring the fields are painted in shades of pink and the air is filled with the fragrance of freshly picked roses. Passing through Berber villages surrounded by lush green landscapes, you will reach the famous Amridil Kasbah, one of the most fascinating and best-preserved kasbahs in Morocco, offering an insight into the history and traditions of ancient local families. After visiting this remarkable example of earthen architecture, the journey will continue across the impressive High Atlas Mountains before finally arriving in Marrakech in the evening.

 Verificata Tour completo del Marocco Il nostro viaggio in Marocco è iniziato il 7 agosto partendo da Casablanca e proseguendo verso nord lungo la costa atlantica con tappa a Rabat, Assilah, Cape Spartel, arrivando poi a Chefchouen, Fes e Meknès. Ci siamo poi diretto verso l'interno, nel deserto arrivando fino al confine con l'Algeria. Infine siamo arrivati a Marrakech. Grazie a Elisabetta che ha compreso fin da subito la nostra idea di viaggio è' stata un'esperienza incredibile e l'organizzazione è stata impeccabile. Le strutture dove abbiamo alloggiato erano tutte di alto livello, molto pulite e con servizi ben organizzati. Il nostro driver Ali', che parla un ottimo italiano, è un ragazzo eccezionale che ci ha fatto conoscere la cultura berbera e ci ha sempre fatto sentire a casa. Si è sempre dimostrato attento e professionale ma anche molto divertente. E' stato tutto perfetto, un viaggio indimenticabile grazie a Marocco.tours.

 Verificata ESPERIENZA FANTASTICA Abbiamo scelto questa agenzia perché ci ha proposto un tour nel sud del Marocco diverso dal solito. Elisabetta è sempre stata presente durante tutto il tour con un messaggio per assicurarsi che tutto andava per il meglio. Ma noi non abbiamo avuto nessun dubbia già dal primo giorno che ci è venuto a prendere il nostro driver, guida, e amico simpaticissimo ALÌ. Con lui il viaggio, anche di diversi kilometri, è stata una scoperta dopo l'altra! Abbiamo anche conosciuto le sue origini, la sua famiglia e i posti del deserto dove solo lui avrebbe potuto portarci. È stato progettato nei minimi dettagli e cercando di vedere il più possibile per i nostri giorni a disposizione. Infine ma non per ultimo, vorremmo fare una menzione speciale a tutte le guide che abbiamo incontrato, che parlavano un italiano perfetto, ma soprattutto alla nostra guida nella Medina di Marrakech YIDIR, anche lui lineare nelle spiegazioni, disponibile a qualsiasi domanda, simpaticissimo che ha reso una mattina con 45 gradi all'ombra, una giornata memorabile.  Verificata Quando le guide guidano Abbiamo fatto un bel viaggio ben organizzato, abbiamo avuto un piccolo problema che Elisabetta ci ha risolto velocemente e in maniera brillante .  Verificata Fantastico tour di nove giorni in Marocco Abbiamo fatto un tour di nove giorni, otto persone tutto è stato perfetto. Molta cura nei particolari e tanta attenzione. Abbiamo viaggiato per tantissimi km e abbiamo visitato tutte le città imperiali con un confortevole pulmino con Aziz il driver veramente impeccabil e professionale oltre che gentilissimo grazie

 Verificata Marocco top Viaggio bellissimo, molto ben organizzato e negli imprevisti, che possono sempre capitare, una soluzione pronta ed eccellente. Nel tour abbiamo visitato molte città, ognuna con una propria caratteristica e, alla fine, possiamo dire che abbiamo capito l'anima del Marocco. Le guide sono state molto brave a spiegarci la storia e la filosofia di vita del posto. Aziz , che ci ha accompagnato e trasportato per tutto il periodo di 9 gg è stato eccellente in tutto, simpatico, cordiale, rispettoso, educato, sorridente e premuroso. Grazie allo staff.  Verificata Indimenticabile esperienza, buonissima organizzazione. Bellissima esperienza. Tutti i riad scelti da Elisabetta - la nostra referente, che ci ha seguiti passo dopo passo sia prima, sia durante il viaggio - si sono rivelati strutture eccellenti, di livello medio alto, molto curate e accoglienti. Il cibo, a colazione e nelle cene, sempre ricco e variegato. Sia la parte dell'Atlante, sia le città imperiali, sia la parte del deserto sono state entusiasmanti e con una organizzazione impeccabile. Le guide delle varie città molto disponibili e socievoli. Imperdibili il giro in quad sulle dune del deserto e una visita alla incantevole città di Chefchaouen. Il nostro autista, Alì - un ragazzo puntuale, alla mano e con un buonissimo italiano - ci ha accompagnati in questa indimenticabile avventura con la sua simpatia. Assolutamente da consigliare.

 Verificata Consigliatissimo Fantastico viaggio all’insegna dell’avventura e non solo. Organizzato nei minimi dettagli in modo eccellente. Guide disponibili e molto accoglienti, per non parlare dell’autista Ali, un ragazzo paziente, simpaticissimo e attento ad ogni nostra esigenza, ci ha fatti sentire a casa!!!  Verificata Bellissima esperienza alla scoperta del vero Marocco Ho prenotato con questa agenzia un tour nel deserto di 5 giorni. L'ho scelta perché leggendo il programma vedevo che il tour passava non solo sai luoghi "classici" come la Kasbah di Ait Ben Haddou e il deserto di Merzouga ma anche da luoghi autentici, dove si vede il vero Marocco. E così è stato. Le aspettative sono state pienamente rispettate. Ho visto villaggi berberi, sono entrato dentro le case dei nomadi e ho visto come vivono, sono passato dalle vecchia pista della Parigi Dakar, il meraviglioso mercato di Rissani e il deserto di Tafraout Sidi Alì. Autentico e non turistico. Elisabetta, la titolare dell'agenzia, mi ha seguito già mesi prima della partenza mostrando grande disponibilità per ogni domanda e ogni giorno del tour mi chiedeva se tutto andasse bene. L'autista Alì, è un berbero e conosce benissimo quelle zone, vivendo lì con la sua famiglia. Tutti i Riad scelti dall'agenzia sono di ottima qualità.
