A 4-day tour from Marrakech to Fez through the heart of the Moroccan Sahara, crossing the Atlas Mountains, discovering ancient kasbahs, Berber villages, nomadic families and the magnificent golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. DAY 1
After breakfast, departure from your riad in Marrakech, crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the famous Tizi n’Tichka, the highest road pass in the country at 2,260 metres. You will then reach the magnificent Ait-Ben-Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best-preserved kasbahs in Morocco. After a short visit, the journey continues to Ouarzazate, which developed as a French military centre and is now home to the famous Atlas Film Studios, nicknamed the “Hollywood of Morocco”. Crossing the fragrant Valley of Roses, you will reach the Dadès Valley, known for its spectacular rocky gorges. Visit to the Dadès Gorges.

DAY 2
After breakfast, departure towards the scenic Todra Gorges, deep and spectacular canyons where you can admire the impressive rock formations and the ingenuity of the local villages. The journey continues towards Erfoud, the famous city of fossils, known for its rich deposits of prehistoric stones. In the afternoon, you will arrive in Merzouga, the gateway to Erg Chebbi. Shortly before sunset, you will set off on a camel ride through the dunes to reach the Berber desert camp. After dinner under the stars, the evening continues with live traditional Berber music.

DAY 3
The entire day is dedicated to discovering Erg Chebbi, one of the most iconic landscapes of the Sahara. After breakfast, you will set off by 4×4 to explore the desert dunes, also visiting some nomadic families who live in remote areas of the desert. You will then reach the village of Khamlia, home to descendants of people originally from Mali, Senegal and Mauritania, where you will have the opportunity to enjoy an authentic Gnawa music performance, an important part of African cultural heritage. You will also visit the Mifiss mines, now abandoned but still full of fascinating history and atmosphere. In the late afternoon, you will return to Merzouga.
