A journey into the heart of southern Morocco, through the wonders of the High Atlas Mountains, historic kasbahs, the fragrant Valley of Roses and the vastness of the Merzouga Desert. Over three days, you will travel through Berber villages, dramatic rock-carved gorges, ancient palm groves and golden dunes, with a magical night in a desert camp under the stars.
DAY 1
Departure from Marrakech after breakfast, crossing the impressive High Atlas Mountains along the scenic road leading to the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, at 2,260 metres, the highest in Morocco. Surrounded by spectacular mountain landscapes, you will reach the famous Ait-Ben-Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its earthen fortifications and as a filming location for productions such as Gladiator and Game of Thrones. The tour continues towards Ouarzazate, an important Berber city expanded by the French in the 1920s and today home to the Atlas Studios, the most famous film studios in North Africa. The journey then continues through the Valley of Roses, famous for the cultivation of the Damask rose, before reaching the Dadès Valley, where you will visit the spectacular Dadès Gorges, deep and scenic canyons carved into the red rock.
