Friends of Morocco
Below we explain why people in Morocco love cats very much, feed them and respect them and let them roam free in the cities and even in mosques.
A legend says that Muhammad owned a cat named Muezza.
One day, a poisonous snake sneaked into the sleeve of her robe and then the prophet, to free himself without using violence and without the risk of dying from the bite, asked the cat for help. Then he asked the snake to go talk to his cat. The intrigued snake put its head out of the sleeve and the cat at that point caught him in a flash, killing him.
Mohammed then, as a sign of gratitude, gave Muezza and all his future descendants to have nine lives, the ability to always land on all fours and a good place in heaven.
