DAY 1
Arrival at the port or airport of Tangier and departure towards the Rif Mountains, passing through the white city of Tetouan. Arrival in Chefchaouen, known as the “Blue Pearl” for its streets and houses painted in endless shades of blue, a color tied to spiritual traditions. Founded by Andalusian exiles, the town feels like a southern Spanish village, with flowered alleyways and wrought-iron balconies. Visit the Outa-el-Hammam Square, the octagonal minaret of the Tarik Ben Ziad Mosque, and the fortified Kasbah. Free evening. ????️ Overnight in a riad/hotel.
DAY 2
After breakfast, depart for Volubilis, an important Roman archaeological site and UNESCO World Heritage Site, famous for its mosaics and ruins. Continue to Meknès, the “Versailles of Morocco,” for a short visit to the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum, the impressive Bab Mansour Gate, gardens, and traditional souks. Proceed to Fès, the cradle of Islamic culture in Morocco. ????️ Dinner and overnight in a riad/hotel.
DAY 3
A full day dedicated to exploring Fès, the oldest and most spiritual Imperial City. Visit the UNESCO-listed Medina, bustling with souks, caravanserais, and artisan workshops. Highlights include the Bou Inania Madrasa, the Al Karaouine Mosque (the oldest university in the Islamic world), the Attarine Madrasa, the Moulay Idriss Mausoleum, the Nejjarine Fountain, and the traditional tanneries. Explore the Ville Nouvelle and the Jewish Quarter. ????️ Overnight in a riad.
DAY 4
After breakfast, journey south with a stop in Ifrane, the “Little Switzerland of Morocco,” and Azrou, home to the famous Barbary macaques in cedar forests. Continue through the stunning Ziz Valley with its canyons and oases. Arrival in Merzouga, at the foot of the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. In the late afternoon, camel trek to the Berber desert camp. Dinner and traditional music under the stars. ????️ Overnight in a desert haima tent.
DAY 5
Wake up early to catch the sunrise over the Sahara, then camel ride back to Merzouga. After a short break, departure to Erfoud, known for its fossil workshops. Continue to the stunning Todra Gorges, with rock walls towering over 300 meters high. Afternoon arrival at the Dadès Valley, famous for its dramatic rock formations. ????️ Dinner and overnight in a riad/hotel.
DAY 6
After breakfast, cross the Valley of Roses, known for its Damascus rose oil production, and reach Ouarzazate, the Moroccan “Hollywood.” Continue to Ait-Ben-Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage kasbah and filming location for movies like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 m). Evening arrival in Marrakech. End of the tour.
