Ourika Valley Excursion

Leaving Marrakech behind after breakfast, the route follows the gentle awakening of the Moroccan countryside heading southeast. The road begins to climb, flanked by cultivated fields and walnut trees, until it enters the heart of the Ourika Valley, one of Morocco’s greenest gems.

This lush valley, nestled among the rocky slopes of the High Atlas Mountains, is a cool, vibrant oasis where clear water flows between terraced fields, wild roses, and mud-brick houses. The destination is the village of Setti Fatma, renowned for its seven waterfalls that tumble down the rocks like silver threads.

Here, you’ll have time to stroll along the stream, hike the scenic trails leading up to the waterfalls, or simply relax in the shade of poplar trees, perhaps enjoying a warm tajine on a terrace overlooking the river.

The local Berber communities, known for their hospitality and pride in their culture, often open the doors to their homes and workshops. You’ll have the chance to discover daily Berber life and traditional crafts such as embroidery, pottery, and weaving.

In the afternoon, return to Marrakech with a lighter heart and the fragrance of the Atlas Mountains still clinging to your senses.
