DAY 1
After breakfast, start the guided tour of Fès, the oldest of Morocco’s Imperial Cities. Explore the UNESCO-listed Medina, with stops at the Bou Inania Madrasa, the Al Karaouine Mosque, Nejjarine Square, the traditional tanneries, and a ceramics workshop. Visit the Ville Nouvelle, the Royal Palace, and the Jewish Quarter. In the afternoon, depart south toward Midelt, crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains and cedar forests. ????️ Dinner and overnight stay in a riad/hotel in Midelt.
DAY 2
After breakfast, travel across the Atlas plateaus to Errachidia, the gateway to the south. Pass through the lush Ziz Valley, dotted with palm groves and Berber villages. Stop in Erfoud, known as the “city of fossils” due to its abundance of marine relics. In the afternoon, arrive in Merzouga, at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes. ????️ Dinner and overnight stay in a riad.
DAY 3
After breakfast, enjoy a 4×4 excursion across the spectacular Erg Chebbi dunes. Visit nomadic families, stop in Khamlia village for a live gnawa music performance, and explore the abandoned Mifiss mines. Return to Merzouga in the afternoon. Before sunset, set off on a camel trek to the Berber desert camp, for a night under the stars with a traditional dinner and Berber music. ????️ Overnight in a haima tent in the desert.
DAY 4
Wake early to watch the sunrise over the dunes, then breakfast at the camp and camel ride back to Merzouga for a shower. Depart for the spectacular Todra Gorges, deep canyons carved into the mountains of the eastern Atlas. After a walk, continue to the Dades Valley, known for its rocky formations, kasbahs, and gorges carved by the river. ????️ Dinner and overnight stay in a riad/hotel in the valley.
DAY 5
After breakfast, travel along the Valley of Roses, famous for Damask rose cultivation. Arrive in Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Morocco,” with an optional visit to the Atlas Studios. Continue to the stunning Ait-Ben-Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and film set for many famous movies. Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, reaching Marrakech in the evening, where the tour ends.
