This tour departs from Casablanca and takes you through the heart of southern Morocco, crossing the Atlas Mountains, the arid landscapes of the Draa Valley, and the vibrant atmosphere of the Red City. In just a few days, you’ll experience the striking contrasts between modern cities, Berber villages, desert expanses, and ancient medinas.
DAY 1
After breakfast, departure from Casablanca, Morocco’s economic capital, with a private driver/guide. The journey heads to Marrakech, one of the country’s most fascinating cities. The day is free to immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of the medina or relax in the city’s gardens. Explore the souks, sip mint tea at historic cafés, or stroll along the ochre-colored walls. Free dinner and overnight stay in a traditional riad or hotel in the heart of the city.
DAY 2
After breakfast, depart south, crossing the High Atlas Mountains along the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka pass at 2,260 meters. After panoramic stops, visit the famous kasbah of Ait-Ben-Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and symbol of Berber architecture, featured in numerous films. Continue towards Zagora, crossing the scenic Draa Valley, known for its endless palm groves and countless kasbahs. Upon arrival in Zagora, ride camels into the desert to reach the Berber camp. Dinner under the stars with live Berber music. Overnight in traditional haima tents.
DAY 3
Wake up at dawn to witness the desert sunrise, followed by breakfast and camel ride back to Zagora. Depart towards Ouarzazate, passing again through the Draa Valley. Visit the Taourirt Kasbah, once a fortified residence of pashas and now a museum. Stop in Agdz, the northern gateway to the Draa oasis. In the afternoon, continue towards Marrakech with arrival in the evening. Free dinner and overnight stay in a riad or hotel.
DAY 4
Full day dedicated to exploring Marrakech, known as the “Pearl of the South” or the “Red City” for its ochre walls and architecture. With an official certified guide, visit major historical sites: Bahia Palace, El Badi Palace, Saadian Tombs, Ben Youssef Madrasa, and the Menara Gardens. Lunch break and mint tea on the lively Jemaa el-Fna square. The tour continues with the Koutoubia Mosque and its minaret, and the colorful Majorelle Gardens, with an optional visit to the Yves Saint Laurent Museum. Evening return to your riad or hotel. End of services.
